update on the tank. Caved and got another larger Lopis from predatory fins. Fattening everyone up currently and letting the new one settle in. Going to attempt using a rain maker to potentially trigger spawning soon

Tank is going strong, had to remove two problematic fish though. The larger female royal knife started viciously attacking the c. lopis, never seen anything like it before, possible she was sitting on eggs and got territorial. This was a while back im not sure if I mentioned it here.

Other one was yesterday, Osphronemus septemfasciatus decided to attack the smallest of the lopis pretty severely. Oddly enough after just two days of this fish being removed they have become much more bold and active, maybe I had underestimated their shyness and they were simply in fear of the gourami. Thankfully all fish are safe and no one is in poor condition.

as for the two problem fish, they are sharing a 55 gallon until I decide what to do with them, the male royal knife hasn’t decided to cause issues yet.

Here are some C. borneensis photos I’ve been meaning to share with you all. It’s recently come to my knowledge that C. lopis occasionally has spotting as juvenile and can keep this pattern into adulthood, certainly interesting. Only seen this in Malay/Indonesian fish, never the Thai ones
