If you're going to do the river rock thing, I would recommend grouping them closer together (instead of all spread out randomly) and adding two or three smaller sized sets of rocks (like one bag of small rocks, one bag of very small rocks). You can get a bag of "river rocks" and a bag of "pea gravel" for under $10 at a hardware store. I get mine at lowes, but most places have them.
If you go down to a river, you'll notice rocks tend to settle like that. Just makes it look more natural.

I know you're going to add more wood, so that's my only suggestion for now.

That's a great idea, although the smaller rocks are likely to be gray. I haven'tt seen a combination of the color rocks I have anywhere else, or even in a different sized rock.. if that makes sense..

I also want to add fake plants, I know what your gonna tell me about that.. but I just don't want to put up with real ones. I haven't come across anything I like.. but I'm most likely go fake..

and yes, much wood is pending...

Thank you missy ma'am!!! Yes, my little hams love taking pictures.. ! And those cory's are here to stay.. love those little dudes..

It's funny but my male BP never has regained his color back since the change.. and I could tell he was mad at me about the whole thing, but I thought he'd be over it by now.. it's been about a month already..

LOL! You sound just like my wife. I think "dude" is making a comeback. :D
I haven't made a thread, just the posts in my blog here.
I'm loving the wood too. It's locally collected. I wanted to leave open space since there will be a couple if 17"+ bichirs going in there.
