The biggest one I've ever had...

I like them, but you like blood parrots so who knows?! :D

The main thing is to try to get them on pellets, or else they grow super slow. Mine grew from about 2" to 8" in less than six months on pellets.

You know how I feel about blood parrots... Some people like something and others don't, so just because I like a fish doesn't mean someone else will. ;)

As long as they are not darting they should be fine. How long have you had them?

Ok, well they should be fine.. they we're given to me right about the time I joined the site.. back in March 09

I'll consider, I just always hear (read) that they can be boring..

hey congrats on the tank i know i always thought tanks that size were huge till i worked with tanks 300-500gal daily then they look like a nice starter tank. i want a 475gal but it requires buying a bigger house then the current one my 220 looks big enough in the house. keep up the good work!!!

It's like any other potentially interacticve fish... Some are really cool and social, some aren't. IME they can be shy until they put on some size and get comfortable with their surroundings. The best thing to do is to pick out the most outgoing one in a tank. Mine was very active but I didn't try very hard to get it to hand feed (I did get it pellet trained quickly though).
I also would grow it out a bit before adding it to a tank with big fish--the way they move can entice a hungry Cichlid.
