THE DEAD FISH THREAD!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's with a sad heart that I finally have to contribute to this thread. I lost my gorgeous juvenile fahaka puffer this morning. He's been on a feeding strike off and on for the past 4 months or so. He was doing better then got drastically worse. He was found by the two people watching my tanks for me this afternoon. I told them to wrap his body up and put him in the freezer, that i would bury him when I got home. I couldn't have them throw him out. Second time in my life i've ever cried over a fish, I was five the first time. He was such a personable little fellow I'll miss him a lot. :(

I had my 180g sw wipe out last weekend.

We were busy doing a big catering gig and the sump was blowing air into the tank, so I got my daughter to unplug the pump so I could put some water in and then plug the pump back in. Except we forgot we had unplugged the pump.

The catering gig was for the canadian cancer society, as I am their corporate food provider for their relay for life that they do.

This one is totally my bad, the function is a 13 hr event where I feed people from 6 pm to 6 am, and then I pack up my spot and bring it back to the restaurant. So shall we say I was a bit wiped out, 1 1/2 day to prep, sleep for 3 hours and then get it ready to move out and be set up by 4 pm.

I did not actually come in till early monday morning, my wife did the unload of things on sat. morning.

I could tell something was wrong the moment I walked in the door.

Lost panther grouper, 4 silver scats, 1 niger trigger, 1 koran angel, 1 purple tang, 1 scorpus tang, 2 dalmation damsel, 1 tomato clown, 1 bat fish and a whole lot of little critters. I did not take any pictures because I was in a rush to get the victims out of the tank and do a massive water change.

Thankfully quite a few of my hermits made it from dead tank to redone tank.
