5 second exposure, Iso 200, F25 cropped and heavily shopped due to the lack of ND filter, too much light:

(Picture removed to avoid duplication)
Very nice picture :)

The ISO should have been on the lowest as there's more than enough light already and you could have reduced the EV Comp to.. say... -2.0. That would have worked...

How about a picture of the bracelet that was sent 1/2 around the world? If nothing else. Liz will be confused or possible jealous;)
All right then...here is a quick one:

Macro, manual focus:

(Picture taken by Lady Y)
I like this one a lot... lots of details appearing in spite of a bright sky... again, kudos to the lady :)

One of my Green Severum babies...

DSC_0013.JPG

The picture would have been much better if the entire fish would have been in focus... but I guess the limitations due to the onboard flash makes this difficult... yet I need to try to see whether I can achieve a better result... maybe by pulling back a bit, using a faster shutter speed and a larger aperture...

More pictures of that severum...

Still can't say I've mastered that focus on the entire fish yet...
(see the head slightly blurred)

Even with close-ups
(BTW, this is the second of the 2 babies I have), you get some areas slightly blurred.... (mouth and head areas)

And it makes no doubt that an over-tank flash would have done wonders...

A few details about settings: f5.6, shutter speed 1/200, ISO 200...

;)

These two pictures were taken about a week ago... I've forgotten the exact settings but they must have been like this:

  • Aperture: F5.6
  • Shutter speed: 1/200
  • ISO 800 (I remember using something higher than the usual)
  • Exposure increased a bit in post-processing
The pictures look nice but I'm not very happy with the somewhat grainy appearance...

I know, too many settings and I got most of them right!

That's what the masters over on AP swear by, the above tank flash, makes it almost look as if the fish is not in water when done right. I wouldn't worry too much about the slight focus issue, just more practice should do:)

Yanbbrox bro, where are your pictures? ;)
Now those shots are some of your best work to date. Very nicely done.

I've been working no stop over the past few days so I've not really had time to take many, I'll see if I can dig up some from the other week.

Here's a shot of fatty the oscar, just took it:

Here is the pleco that used to live with George until he attacked him one day(George that is) so to save the pleco we moved it to the tank of marbles, during the move it jumped straight out of the net and hit the floor. If you look on the right side of the picture the bone part of the fin broke off at the body and left it pretty in a bad way. You can see where the bone bit seems to has acutally grown back, you can see the join:

Here is my best pic of George:
