The Most Aggressive Freshwater Aquarium Species

I think a twenty inch Dovi would send an equally sized convict to protective custody.

^^Ehh...Dovi aka Wolf cichlid.

See here's the thing, though I have no scientific proof here, from what i've seen if you were to upsize the convict tp the Wolf's size, the wolf wouldnt have a chance. The difference? I'd argue a higher intelligence.

I think you are wrong on this one, but, alas we will never know.

Further...

how the fight would go...

The Wolf cichlid would have teeth, yes, but the convict would avoid the business end. And lay waste to said wolf cichlid with a series of eye and body blows.

Ive seen a piranha take out two convict males that were twice its size ..

But here's the thing, the teeth are the issue.

All things being equal, piranha aren't anywhere near as aggressive as Convicts.

So I stand by my claim that Convict cichlids are the most agressive freshwater fish, unless you consider bullsharks fresh water.

How would a convict go about removing a finger?...by biting, same thing with the wolf.I'm not even getting in to the teeth as they both have some type of dentition and there are plenty of accounts of Dovii seemingly using some thought process in taking out a target...I wish you could see the Dovi at Sharkaquarium, that thing is downright scary as it rams the glass at passers by...The Dovi is the king of all cichlids...good hypathetical discussion though.

....and I've had an Oscar take out a RBP by blinding it and constantly attacking its blind side.
