That Barlow article is great! Deserves a bump. Thanks for posting these (and many others) RD. I've had the Barlow book on cichlids for over a decade. Maybe I should actually read it.

I picked up 8 fish sold as Midas cichlids from CotA last week (2 "barred" and 6 in various degrees of orange and white) and have been scouring this forum for interesting articles on amphilophus species. My tank had WC frontosas previously. The midas are so much more interesting to me. Articles like the Barlow one add to the enjoyment of them as there's so much information available about them.

You should def give that book a read! I recently just picked up a copy and am half way through the book...great resource!

it’s simple enough for the hobbyists to understand with some technical scientific info that makes you do additional research. It also references the Midas quite a bit
