Sounds like more of the same...another big time sparring match, glad I didn't fork over any loot to see the fight....I read a few remarks about the judge that scored it 114 even. She should have to go on front of some sort of board or panel and explain her results...Gotta love Teddy Atlas,he very colorfully tells it like it is.[/QUO

Dont believe that hype .. Floyd stood toe to toe with Canelo for the majority of the fight. Was the aggressor early and held on late for the victory. This was the fight the hatred wanted and he gave it to them time to give him this props.

Garcia looked good as well and the underdog keeps rolling.

I'm Where I'm At
mayweather made a guarantee 41.5 mil last night and canello made 5 mil

last night and his purse for his fight with guerrero a few months ago earns him a total of like 73 mil or something, making him the highest paid athlete in the world I believe this year

and that's not even including his cut for ppv buys

dude really is money

but too bad for him boxing is dying right? he better learn to invest

I'm Where I'm At
here's another good read about the "dying" state of boxing. good article, good observation. it's market is actually thriving

http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/9669915/boxing-closer-peak-death

and to the ignorant spewing that only a couple guys are making a lot of money. Donaire made 1.32 million and Rigondeaux 750K for their fight earlier this year. Tim Bradley made 1.75 million his last fight vs. Provodnikov. These were HBO fights, not PPV. Abner Mares made 925K for a Showtime fight last month. Cotto, Broner, Ward, Martinez, Chavez Jr etc. all make a million a fight without PPV. Danny Garcia made 1.5 mil and Matthysse 800K last night. The Klitschko's, Haye, Froch and many other fighters are making tons of money overseas.

it isn't uncommon that many no name boxers make 100k to half a mil on an undercard. ufc champs don't make 300k in disclosed purses. no name mma fighters are making peanuts, literally chump change compared to no name boxers. money made is money made from fans and viewers. it isn't getting pulled out of a giant magical ass

I only bring up mma because many on here have compared the two saying that mma is taking over while boxing is on life support. mma is actually struggling as of late

The best thing that article said was that naysayers have helped the sport and forced it to respond

So don't mind me while I continue to pour dirt on its grave

the article also states that networks are covering and putting in slots for boxing. networks won't do that if they felt, like many ignorant people do, that boxing is dying

boxing is gonna keep on trucking and will be around when we're gone.

plus I think it was just business as usual. it just happened to prove itself again in the process

love this from the article, been saying this about you guys for a while now

"People who think boxing is dead or is dying are either ignorant or lazy,.......It's a mindset that says, just because it doesn't hit their own radar or they are not aware of it, it must not be important. But if you do the research, you can see the boxing market is thriving."

Yeah, and then a few paragraphs later it talks about how the general consensus that's its dead is what's forcing it to peak and create better match ups....and proved that boxers were ducking each other
