I've heard talk of some Arab tycoon offering to pay two hundred million dollars to have the fight in his country.
lol no way that would happen. That guy should just come watch it in Vegas and bet his 200 milli.

Most recent polls I've seen has pac man winning if they fought this may. I'm sensing doubt pac man could do it from this thread?

Except his buys are down and the companies that put the fights on lost money? It's part of the reason they're pushing for this fight. They can't keep losing money while FLOYD gets paid.

Plus we all agree his fights are sleep inducing. Knock someone out please.

how bad are the ppv sales though? do you have numbers?

you guys may find him boring, but his fan base find him amazing. his style isn't one i'm most excited about but I appreciate what he does in the ring.

I think most knowledgeable and unbiased people would have pac as the underdog coming into this fight. I would also. and believe me, I want nothing more than for pac to knock out mayweather

where did you see the polls? filipinoboxing.com? lol. lurking in boxing forums, the general feel is that pac is the underdog. (from fans of both fighters)

Does it matter what the number of sales are? Down means less then previous fights. Losing money means they lost money putting on the fight because decreased PPV buys while paying Floyd too much to recoup it all

Don't derails this into retardedness. I'd like to keep this thread on track

As for who's really underdog, I'll let Vegas tell me that one lol. These were polls on major sport sites, not boxing specifics. So it's probably a more well rounded view from all sport fans then the technical views of boxing fab websites. Not a bad question though.

The vibe I get from comments on those site is pac has nothing to lose after the blemishes on his records and will be very aggressive, desperately so.

it would matter to an extent. if he's averaging a million buys and it's down to like 800k, that's not much difference. I was asking because if it was down to like 400k buys then I would tend to agree

how is talk of ppv buys derailing a thread about boxing in general?

there is a lot of talk about how the fight may go down IF they'd ever do it. you got the hardcore Floyd haters/pac tards and you got your Floyd worshippers and pac haters. it's only subjective to an extent though. given their past fights, past opponents and results, I couldn't pick Floyd as the underdog. and I can 99.99999% guarantee you vegas will have pac as the underdog. that kind of chances declares people's baby daddys

his overly aggression against marquez is part of what got him face planted. and marquez is an excellent counter fighter who got out countered by a superior counter fighter in maywether

anyways, there's already possible road blocks to the fight.

mayweather wants "cinco de mayweather" (as he put it) to be the date. bob arum says he doesn't wanna do it that day because it's a Mexican celebration and they want saul alvarez vs Miguel cotto to fight that weekend. mayweather saying bob and pac don't want to fight and is using that as an excuse as he's been fighting around cinco de mayo for several times over the years now. people are saying mayweather is pushing for that date knowing alvarez/cotto is already shooting for that date so that when turned down he can say bob and pac turned the fight down. it's a lot of the usual pissing contest like before.

I don't know which is dumber, one side who only wants that day or the other side who says any day besides that day. but at least I will agree that chances of the fight happening are closer than it has been in years. but that's not saying much either so it's whatevers

so you are predicting that 2 judges will score the fight for pac and 1 judge will score it for mayweather? kind of weird to predict a split decision

I used to blame Floyd, but now I believe they both contributed to the fight never happening

No way Cotto- Alvarez is bigger and more money than Maywrather-Pac....that fight could be the co main event on the undercard.

which is why Floyd is saying arum is full of crap.

and no way does the fight go on the co main event. they won't do it because the alvarez/cotto fight will do decent numbers on it's own. don't pull the race card on me, don't get me wrong but I say to hell with the Mexicans, they can move their fight date so that the biggest match in our generation can happen on that day

that and the fact that cotto is now training under freddy roach. you can't be head coach for two guys at the same time to fight on the same night

It not derailing and retarded to talk about PPV buys. That's one of the key things that'll determine if the fight even happens or not. If there's not as much money as expected, I think Floyd will find a way to back out and blame it on Pacquiao and Arum. I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd will ask for a 70/30 split. Floyd is near the end of his career and he doesn't want to risk a loss. That's why he's been so reluctant to take this fight and why he keeps making the terms unfair. It's the unfair terms that are the biggest stumbling block to making this fight happen.
