I just use whatever I find really. Walmart is pretty hard to beat 4/lbs for like 8 bucks last me months.

I've tried 99 Ranch Asian market tilapia and Walmart tilapia. The fish didnt mind which store the tilapia came from. I like Walmart tilapia for price and convenience.

Tonight I stopped at a 'Grocery Outlet' store. They had a 3 pound bag of Tilapia for $8.99 that looked like the Walmart stuff. For some reason the Tilapia at my Walmart is not as cheap as you other guys are getting it for. Mine had the 2.5 pound bags at $10.68, the 1 pound bags were like $6.98. Not sure why so much more but Im in Washington State.

I'm in southern Washington and my Walmart is same price as yours dmd. Ya, I've tried grocery outlet as well. All mentioned on frozen tilapia selectio/threads previously are product of China.

My dad works in the meat industry, so I get my tilapia in 10lb boxes of individually sealed filets. Good quality and consistency, and cheap...like $25 for the box.

Your right. Damn. I knew that, lol. That's what most of the seafood guys mistakenly call it. Drop the 2 and It's just 'CO'

Asked the wife to get me cheap fz tilapia fillets from our fred meyers supermarket. Instead of cheap, she brings in a nice quality Kroger brand for $10.98 / 2.8 lb. Not CO treated. Kroger is natural and only salt is added. Although its twice as much as the CO treated ones.
