You can use a car wax cutting polish which works by removing a thin surface layer (in your case, glass). I am sure your local car auto specialist will be able to recommend a strong one.

Whoa, some of this sounds serious! Me? If the vinegar doesn't work (first option) I would use a paint scraper w/ lots of new, clean blades (blades are oiled to prevent rust) and a bottle of water with a drop of biodegradable soap (to reduce surface tention (try camping soap)). Scrape it with an up and to the side motion with the blade at about 30 degrees or less. No scratches and the calcium should come right off.

If that doesn't work, try the blade dry, but in an area that can't be seen. Be sure that it isn't scratching the glass before moving elsewhere. Remember, wet deposits are harder to get off then wet ones so the idea is not to soak the deposit, just use the water as a blade lubricant (spray, immediate scrape). This is oposite to the vinegar idea, which is to soak and disolve.

hard to explain but the problem is the last fine layer.
i have scraped all the chunks and stuff off.
and now theres a fine layer.
i can use a blade but it only comes off if you do a tiny spot at a time. :irked:
i think im going to try some chemicals. :(
start with like windex and go from there.
will try to get a pic later of my problem.
i wont use chemicals inside tho.
im hoping when i fill it with water it hides most of the crap on the inside of the tank.
am i dreaming?lol
