Umm, well IMO, from this era, I'd be afraid of snakeheads in rivers. From any era though, I'd probably say a hive of hornets are pretty efficient killers. Have you seen the video where they wipe out an entire colony of bees? its pretty intense. Like 8 hornets just rip the heads off of a huge ass colony of bees. I'd be scared to go near a hornet's nest.

Wow, i'm talking about marine animal... :banhim:

i'm going with the great white shark of our time. the great white is currently at the top of the oceanic food chain and they have no known enemy or creature that they have to fear. i have seen the documentaries on megladon and other prehistoric creatures. i can only go with what i know today. megladon did not survive. sharks are still here. overall, humans are the most intelligent creatures to ever walk the earth and i strongly feel that humans are the top predators. i mean that in a negative and positive way.

Orcas attack great whites...

there might be a few isolated incidences where a killer whale has attacked a shark and maybe some cases of sharks attacking killer whales, but i also feel that nature has somehow alowed both species to dwell in the ocean and these creature naturally avoid one another. i have never heard of great white and killer whales interracting, at all.

The only thing I've seen mentioned that can kill everything so far stated more or less.. is the Orca... singularly or as a pack.. they are efficent, intelligent, and predetors. I for one would not like to be the target of a "pack" of them. Salties are also highly intelligent predetors but lack the "pack" mentality though they do gather in large groups.. so it's debatable if they work as a "group" or if it's more coincidence... To me a Top Predetor must have a high intilect. Which would also toss in dolphins.. but they are not at the top of the food chain like Orcas or Salties are. but those are both a marine mammal and a marine reptile. cephlapods.. giant squid wins. "fish" There are alot of large predetory fish both fw and sw that fit the bill. It would likely be one of the larger cats, or Baraccuda or Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Swordfish. I'de put a great white in there if they hunted in groups... but they don't and can easily be overtaken by a pack of Orcas or a giant squid. They have big teeth... but so do Payara.... and I've seen video footage of a Payara chockign to death on another one it had tried to eat but was to big for it to swallow..Not to smart....

Whaz the top predaor of ur choice in any era?

Mine - Liopleurodon form Jurasic era

WE COULD DISCUSS THIS ALL DAY LONG AND END UP WITH 50 DIFFERENT CREATURES ON THE LIST. THE BOTTOMLINE IS THAT THE QUESTION WAS, "WHAT IS THE TOP PREDATOR?" IN MY OPINION, THAT MEANS THAT THE CREATURE MUST BE AT THE TOP OF HIS FOOD CHAIN. WE COULD TALK OF BATTLES BETWEEN VARIOUS CREATURES ALL DAY. IF A KILLER WHALE AND A GREAT WHITE BATTLE, WAS IT FOR FOOD, FOR TERRITORY OR FOR THE SAKE OF KILLING? I DON'T KNOW . . . ONE THING WE KNOW IS THAT PREDATORS TYPICALLY KILL FOR FOOD. IF WE LOOK AT THE ORIGINAL QUESTION AGAIN, IT SAY "TOP PREDATOR." THE GREAT WHITE IS AT THE TOP OF HIS FOOD CHAIN, AS IS THE ORCA, AS IS THE GIANT SQUID. THIS IS LIKE ASKING, WHO WOULD WIN A FIGHT BETWEEN THE PREDATOR AND THE ALIEN....BUT THAT WAS A MOVIE, HUH? :)
