I'm lost...thought the red sea systems were pretty much plug and play. The pipes in your wall... are those drains for some kind of drip system, or an ATO?

Did you get the tanks onto the stands yet?

The red sea is absolutely plug and play. This is an issue with my water change system I'm building on top of their plumbing. I'm feeding fresh water into the display tank and overflowing from the return section of the sump.

U only need a drop of around 1/4” for proper gravity flow… sheet of 1” plywood under the sumps might just be enough. I have a 50’+ section of pvc “drip drain” and the grade is around 1/4” at best. Flows more than fine even with 35+gph round the house. Multiple tanks run into it.

I think the best way to handle this is going to be raising the entire tanks onto 4x4s, then using baseboard to close off the gap it will create at the bottom. I'm trying to find specs for compression load of lumber but it's all about weight over span and not fully supported. I assume it will be just fine, but I'd rather find out now than when I start filling it with water.

The issue in my mind, is I'd like to be about an inch or two below that bubble trap wall for the return chamber. , maybe having the centerline of that hole being at the 9" mark. That would put it well below the drain, but a 4x4 would space it up appropriately

I also failed to account for a p trap in this setup, so that would let me point the drain exists down and use the droop of the hose to hold enough water for a makeshift p trap...at least that's how it works in my head. I'm well out of my element.

?? read my mind with the 4x4’s then “capping” them off to still look nice. My basement/fishroom is prone to flooding so i have all my tanks up on 2x4, 4x4 and even a 500gal up on the 4” thick solid cinder blocks. Either way should b fine for ya. Also thought maybe u can find longer leveling feet if there rated high enough.

This is not related, but I impulse bought a gopro on the memorial day sale and the first thing I did was stick it in the geo tank for feeding:

Picked up the 4x4s and cut them to length, then enlisted a friend to help me lift the stands and scoot them under. I need to re-level the stands now but they seem pretty sturdy. I will likely go back in and add some braces to keep the 4x4s together just for my peace of mind.

This might be the least fun I've ever had in the hobby...let's just say that 3 movers were not enough and it was a very difficult process. We picked up some scrapes and minor damage but nothing that can't be easily fixed up.

Good news is, we're done and I'm on to much more fun aspects of the build.

Well this sucks. Was moving a sump into the garage to drill it...lost my footing and fell while I had the sump on the hand truck...

Not sure what to do with this. I guess I will see if I can find a glass repair shop tomorrow and reach out to FTD and see if they can sell me just the sump.
