Brutus has had an astonishing appetite and displayed great voraciousness and gluttony.

As had been described and feared above, the intermedia pbass named Brutus has assuredly eaten himself to death, so to my mind it is official - I have been killing our pbass by unintentional overfeeding. They can't be placed in tanks where their intake of feed cannot be controlled and limited.

The symptoms and the manner of the last illness and passing were similar as for all the other predecessors.

We have no more pbass currently. When / if we get more, I will have to keep them in smaller tanks and control their feed intake, even if the tank is a bit too small for them - I always aim to give each fish the biggest tank I can give them... but sometimes, as is the case with the pbass, it results in negative outcomes for different reasons. Not stepping on that rake again. Maybe on a different one, but not this one.

As planned, I will try to keep these new pbass in tanks where I can attempt to control how much they feed. Unfortunately, these tanks have to be smaller for now.

One rescue 12" pbass from Matthew probably ~1yo (what species? looks a "farmie" to me, no?):

Pair of 1.5ft rescue pbass, orino and azul, from Orlando, about 4 yo:
