drop eye was my reason for getting a black aro ,, i read up on the pro's and cons of each and have been sifting through the aro sectiom on mfk also ,,
it was not an impulse buy and i have walked away from a couple of other aro's .
i saw this one feeding before i bought it , and it took the floating pellets very gently , no snatching or aggression ,,
i know i will get lots of joy from owning the aro

Calophysus macropterus, aka the vulture cat, is a stunning cat and i got one as i knew i wasn't gonna be able to house a lince. very active, especially while young and once the lights go off where they tend to swim mid water. got a bit of a bad rep but i've never had any aggression whatsoever with mine. good price for one 8-10" is about £80 altho i've seen them as low as £50 and as high as £120. got mine from wildwoods. here's a better pic of mine:

this would suggest that either:
1) the fish for sale is not the actual fish
2) it is a fraud
3) that the person got the fish from them and this is an old pic and it may have now deteriorated in condition.
either way £400 is ridiculous. Personally I wouldn't go anywhere near that rtg at st albans either, but that's a story i'll tell you about by pm if you like.

he's treated this as his own for 2 and a half years. you won't find healthier or better condition than that. and if dan says it's 14" it's probably more like 18-19".
