The 5 umbee surprised me by pretty slow growth, in 3 months with us they grew maybe 1 inch or 1.5 inch, while feed is ~unlimited, while the tankmate vieja hybrids grew by 3 to 5 inches.

240 cichlid growout broken down, 5 umbee moved next door:
Out of 5 umbees bought last year, 3 disappeared at around 3"-4" size, and only 2 were remaining for a long time, a larger male at 9" and a smaller female at 6". I believe both are too small for their age of 1.5yo. The less resilient to stress male has succumbed:
