Update Of My 6ft Sump Tank Setup...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
what do you have in place in case the water level goes empty in the sump - to shut off the pumps?

Thx for all the nice compliments there... I had spent me quite some efforts to set up my sump to this stage. Now basically I just enjoy viewing the fishes but not touching my sump much anymore...:)

Nice sump. It is very organized. I noticed that you keep all the bio-media submerged. Is there a reason for this? I have heard of this before, but I never knew why. I keep mine half exposed to air.

It really depend, as long as there is enough oxygen in the water for the bb to cultivate on the bio medias, it is alright to fully submerge them in the water. In fact, in my 1st compartment which housing all the Bacteria House, I have placed 4 air stones to provide max oxygen to the aerobatic BB to cultivate...

Thx, but not sure about my pump flowrate, sorry about that... But it can dry my sump tank in 5 to 8 mins if running and no water in...
