Let me know when you set that up. I need a real vacation.

Now I need to figure out what to do with 5 dogs....
Most likely late Nov, early Dec next year. Best "vacation" you'll ever go on! Ken

Amazing pics, and I'm tempted to go on your next trip. How many live fish can each person bring back? Is there a limit on bringing in skeletal remains? (Interested in doing dry mounts of some of the larger ones.)

I thought they limited you two much, but I brought back 8 boxes of fish and didn't reach my limit on anything but pikes. Ken

Thanks, I'm keeping this in mind, but I don't think I'll be done with law school that early. (Also recruiting a friend, but he'll be starting a ob and probably won't have vacation yet.)

were they travelling with you or did you have them ship prior to getting on the plane? is there an advantage (cost, paperwork, etc..)if they travel with you?

We pack them in our suitcases, I have two large bags that will hold 4 boxes each, then check them as luggage, I use the flat stryros that frozen fish fillets come into the meat market in. They just throw them away and gladly give them to me. You can get a lot of fish in one of those boxes. Felipe is the ony licenced exporter in Uruguay and gets all the permits for each person. I have 8 spots available for the trip, looks like 4 are already taken. This will be my 7th collecting trip, we can help advise anyone who has never been bring all the right stuff. Basically, You need a few styro that will fit inside your luggage, fish bags, nets to catch fish with, Felipe has a seine and cast nets, which is how most fish are caught, but it's nice to have a hand net to catch few your self. I take an extra old pair of shoes to wade in, minimal clothing, hat, sunglasses, light jacket, one pair of jeans, camera, my meds and that's about it, travel light so you have more room for fish on the way back. Felipe and his crew take care of all the fish for us and put them in his holding tanks once we get back to his place, then we bag everything up with O2 and pack them for the flight back home. Last trip we had Americans, Canadians, a Croation, Swed, and an Italian and everyone made it home with their fish with minimal losses. Ken
