Vieja zonatus?

Aren't zonatus and coatzacoalcos the same species just different catch location,

It's two different fish . I have seen the Coatzacoalcos being sold as "Red Tail Zonatus". But that species has not been officially classified yet.

Fish from different collection points do/can vary and in some cases a lot. They can also vary among the same collection locale. Here's a male Coatzacoalcos:

But for certain...the photo you posted was not a Hartwegi. That's my boy "Big Blue" as a juvey.

Here's a fish I had a couple years ago, about 8" at the time

I always thought he was a guttalatum or zonatum but was never sure. Anyone have any input? Either way he was one of my favorite fish, yours should grow up to look awesome. can already see the blue coming in.
