Wallago and Wallagonia at Fish Story

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Got my fish last week, and seems like I am going to have to separate them or move them to a larger tank. Getting some tatterd fins and the dominant one is hogging all the food. I will give them another week in my 90 gallon and see if they settle, if not they will be moved into a 250.

@celebrist Toothster got winded quickly from half a dozen violent bursts and also Silurus do not have hard sharp spines in their fins, so that made it easier. I was pleasantly surprised too.

Toothster appears to have (lightly) bitten Mr Wels in his defense I assume:

Had only one ever before 14 years ago. I tell in the video a remarkable story how it ate a wyckii. The arrival of 2 from Mike of Aqua Imports. About 7-8 inches, really skinny.

Good growth but not as fast as we thought from 7-8 inches to 12-15 inches in 4 months. After the initial weeks when they had arrived so skinny and fed a lot, they have been feeding in moderation, often skipping a day or two.
