Hey yall, this is my first post so go easy on me haha. Anyway, I just spent an hour and 7 minutes trying to get one of my sun catfish out of a piece of driftwood I have in my tank. The funny part is that I didn't even know there was a hole on the underside and he should be too fat to even get in it :/. After cutting and hacking I finally pulled him out. Got away from me before I could check him over. Had to catch 2of the 4 before I found him on the 3rd try. Nothing more then some scales pulled off his tail from me pulling his fat little self out and a ripped right side fin.
So any of yall got some interesting stories of fish getting themselves stuck?

I don't recall seeing this brought up before so great idea for a first post/thread.:)
Years ago I had a red devil cichlid that loved to move all the gravel to one side of the tank. One day I did not see the fish in the tank and there were no signs of it jumping out so I concluded that it had to be inside of the conch shell that was in the tank.I turned the shell over and saw the devil's tail fin sticking out from the opening so I repositioned it in the tank so the fish could back out easily when it was ready to.Well,a few days later and it still didn't seem to be "ready" to exit the shell.I winded up having to break open the shell with a small hammer in order to remove the fish.

Maybe I should be more careful about what falls in my tanks...

Man, I was ready to break the piece of driftwood at one point. Had a saw and everything :p. Did he ever get stuck in the conch again?

Twohedwlf, what's the first pic? I think it's a pleco in like a little plastic cup?

Yup. Bristlenose with his head stuck in a disposable plastic cup I used to prefill with food for them.
Was he stuck or sucking?

No indeed.I broke up the shell and tossed the pieces in the trash can.I replaced it with a large ceramic skull that the devil could easily get in and out of.

I've been looking for a bigger log decoration and a different piece of driftwood that nobody could get stuck in. Gonna chuck this piece if I find one I like.

Man jexnell, you're luck he got stuck in a way that was easy to get out haha

thZIAJ14T7.jpg I spent days chasing down my sailfin molly male in a local creek, if that counts?
Crafty suckers, wont enter a baited fish trap.
Was a tiny-ish creek, running under railroad track, so they have lots of concrete chunks for erosion control. Here and there are deeper pockets.

I was using a small dip net, I got him into a small "cove" and chased him around for about 10 minutes and moved concrete chunks to box him in. Finally, got him netted, he is over 3 inches and looks exactly like these guys.
