It's either a spotted tilapia or Mayan cichlid. Either one are good feeder fish for PB.

The spotted tilapia I catch in Miami have bars when they are small. The bars lose their outside edges and ends up with spots along the center of the body when they grow.

The mayan cichlid also have bars and a dark spot on its dorsal. They also have a dark spot on the caudal as well. Similar to PB's ocellaris but a different color. They keep their bars when they get big.

Ha we have had like 3 straight weeks of rain here. Flooding everywhere and all the lakes and what not are up almost too far. Can't wait to see the pictures though. Colorful catfish eh?

I have seen that cat looking thing before but cannot come up with a name. Also that other one looks like some kind of loach. Do you have any closeup pictures of the plecos?

Looks like a cross between a mozambique and a clown

The other (not the floater) striped one does look like a Mayan cichlid.

If the other one is a mozambique Tilapia they are on the restricted list and you need a permit to have them. :( (yea, right)

How is the life expectancy problem going? Just watched a PBS show of China, small shops selling live fish just laying in a tray with water running over them, all day! Looked like 5-6in tilapia.

A gar w/ pinchers? That's all we need ! :WHOA:

Any pix of the 'colorful' catfish?

Keep it coming, you never know what's at the bottom of that ditch! Maybe a hoplo? ( I want one of those!) Some bowfin / aro / or snakeheads ?

Better start watching your fingers.

Hey, what kind of net are you using?
