why do you ask that? im not a teen if thats why lol

he has an acre pond in his yard.
im trying to get a baby bass there but only get 6 inchers.
i should have just put the t's in there.

Maybe you can keep the crayfish in a net in the ditch till you leave
i think im going to make a cage to keep them in and keep in the ditch.good idea

went again today.
didnt have any $ for ice tho.
there was hundreds "no joke" of baby crayfish, not even a quarter inch big.
got a dozen of those and 2 big ones, none made it.
i put them in just enuff water to keep them wet.
oh well i give up on them lol.
also, there was hundreds "no joke lol" of baby plicos, half inch maybe.
i got a dozen or two of those in just a few scoops.
also got 2 baby largemouths from my parents pond, about 3 inchers.
also got 2 more of those fish in my last pic, babies.
also a half inch big sun fish, nice coloring, and a bunch of bluegill babies.
i will get pics if they last this time :)

ultimatejay, guess you have to show me how lol.
ive lost so many dozen, this one in pic is the first and only to survive.

ok,bad stuff now, there isnt going to be any fish in fl after im done.
they all went to fish heaven.crayfish is the only thing that didnt die.
it has to be my quarantine tank.
they were in a baitwell for 2 hours and then i got home they were fine.
3 hours after i put them in,all dead.
just dont know what it was,it was a rubbermaid thing,20 gallon.
tap water with aquasafe.i know im done with that thing.
heres a pic of the loss and my one crayfish :/

Not sure what your doing wrong but I transport collected fish from homestead and miami 20+ hours back to pittsburgh pa and no losses several times per year. All I do is use a large tupperware container 3/4 full of clean water, 1 ammonia bag, and a battery powered aerator....I have brought bass up to 20" back and little stuff also....all I know for sure that will kill them is either leaving them in the heat too long or having water in your container that is drastically different temperature wise. Also once you get them home you must do water changes due to ammonia build up...if you are leaving them in the collection container or out in the elements then they will die every time.

another question...do they make it from the collection point to your home? If so what do you do once you get them home..ie put into a holding tank ect... do you dose with anything? filtration? do you give them 3-4 days to purge their system before attempting to feed? Just trying to get details so I can help you out...I collect almost twice weekly and have never had drastic losses...so I am wondering that there is one particular thing that is offing them.

I used to do that, bring fish back from the lake, and after numerous failed attempts, I figured it out. The time it worked was when I brought back not only the fishes, but water from the lake also... enough to completely fill my quarantine tank ( 30 gal). And everyday I'd change a total of 5 gal of the lake water with fresh water (gradually) for 1 week. After that procedure all fishes that I brought back have made it.

But... did they die before you got home? Or just a couple hours after they were in the QT tank? I might be explaining something you already know, sorry if this is the case...

i know im doing it wrong but there ditch fish most of them lol.
ok,so this is how it went down last time.
changed all the water in the 20 gall tupperware.
its in the shade outside.
no filter for it just an air pump.
aquasafe in the water.
go netting.they all made it home just fine.
dug out all the fish from the baitwell "with a bubbler" and put in tupperware.
walk away, come back 3 hours later all dead but the crawdad lol
i just have a feeling its that tupperware.
it was clean and no chemicals ever in it that i know.
its been filled with water a bunch of times.

Well I would add a filter and bring it inside. Also allow time to float. Put them in bags or something and let them float to gradually get them used to the temp change. The temperature in the creek is most likely alot colder then the stuff in the tub. Also don't dump the transport water into the tank. HTH
