The only thing I like more than salmon sashimi, is good yellowtail sashimi
Hamachi... Mmmm... I love it. You know what is better? Otoro... bluefin tuna sash.., The best... Or what I REALLY love is some geoduck sashimi!!! Sashimi the neck and egg wash/panko the belly/meat and deep fry. Best clam strips ever!

We have a type of fish in Hawaii that is pen/farm raised in Hawaii. We call it Kampachi. It is a fish we call Kahala (wild type) a type of amberjack (like hamachi). In the wild here it is usually full of worms. But they farm raise it so it doesn't get affected by the worms thtough the food they eat in the wild. It is REALLY fatty and so ono (delicious) as sashimi. IMO it is better than hamachi. Almost as good as bluefin... You should try it. They have it more in the mainland than here... Most of the tine it is shipped out (better prices in the mainland for the producers). But just like fresh Alaskan king/snow crab, you will never taste it as fresh and as good as it can be from the source!

I'll add these to my culinary bucket list. Mahalo, Brahda:)

Today I'm grilling rib-eyes on the BBQ. My wife decided to make a lasagna with cut italian sausage and home-made meatballs. There was sauce and cheese mix left over so, she also made up a big dish of baked ziti.

The lasagna (still needs to settle a bit):

And the ziti (which we sampled immediately):

Beverly also found the time to make me a nice birthday cake.
