Visited the fish market today and bought some large prawns. A kilo for £10, that is seriously good value for money. No fancy pants recipes or marinades for these bad boys. Keep it simple. Salt and pepper and a squeeze of lemon. These were delicious. Pics below.....before....after....and err, aftererer, lol.

Wife has been wanting me to make old southern church lady pot-luck foods lately. I have been commissioned to make her a dump salad today...I kinda want to Montana it up into cookie salad. Maybe some corn flake funeral potatoes too.
This sounds interesting...mainly because I have literally no idea what you are talking about! :nilly:

Lol, I genuinely have absolutely no idea what the word is which I needed to finish that post, or indeed if there is such a word I could have slotted in there.

I just know you're going to come up with a better one than my paltry effort, lol.

Nope...I refuse to help you make me seem predictable. :)

"Aftererer" is really cute...much more so than the perhaps-more-logical "afterer"...and this is your first language we are discussing, not mine. So I will refrain from correcting you when you commit a grammatical faux pas; either before, or after...or later still...:)

There you go...I think you have finally got it! :)

And I get a kick out of seeing you use "dang"...it's always seemed like it should be reserved for hillbilly colonials like me...:)

By the way John, I found this some time ago and it absolutely floored me, I was howling laughing. I saved it for such a time as this, you know, when my grasp of my first language just leaves me momentarily, lol.

THAT IS PERFECT! :grinyes:

I am an Eastwood fan...or perhaps a fan of Eastwood's characters...and the picture someone stuck on my locker at work is of Eastwood on his porch, shouldering his Garand, growling "Get off my lawn!" :)

Fair warning: I am so stealing that pic...:)

The internet is wonderful; it allows two similar minds, halfway around the world from each other, to communicate back and forth instantly...whereas up until recently, we would both have been simply institutionalized. :)

We're in danger of letting this thread "wander" off topic, lol. It's not like us!

I love Clint too, though I think some of his best work is when he's in the director's chair.

The barber shop scene in Gran Torino when he's teaching the little Vietnamese lad how to perfect the art of "man talk" with the barber is one of my favourite scenes in any movie I've ever watched.

The very first time I saw it i was crying laughing, my stomach was so knotted up, I just couldn't catch my breath. It still gets me to this day, lol.

In fact, that picture could well be out of Gran Torino.

Pretty sure it is.

But you're right...and now we return you to your regularly scheduled programming...:)
