What is the Most Aggressive Aquarium Salt Water Fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
barracuda. I once went snorkeling with a guide who was missing two fingers from his pet WC barracuda biting his hand for his ring.
Incidentally, I went snorkeling at the place where they filmed jurassic park three, at cor covado in costa rica

Barracuda are extremely aggressive. Most Gymnothroax sp. morays would make a meal of any triggers, even if they had to tear off chunks.

I would say the most aggressive Salt water fish are the Psuedochromis.. they are small and will kill anything in their way.. we are talking about aggression here and not its behavior of eating fish right? If we are talkinga bout the most massive eater, I would say Anglers (Frogfish) I have one that easily swallows a fish that is 2x its own body size!
What is the Pseudochromis? is it the same as the "royal gramma"?
Would that angler fish be reef safe?

seahorse.....crazy devils.... never turn your back on these guys... alomst got a chunk of flesh sucked off one time.... nightmarish beasts!!!! lol

I was at my lfs a few months back and there was this clown trigger and if anybody or anything was as close as two or three feet from his tank he would charge the front class in a snapping rage. He was feed crayfish, as soon as these feeders hit the water they were dismembered and ripped to shreads. It was the most psyco fish I have ever seen, freshwater included. :WHOA:

My 3+' Green moray is a bad a**. Not all triggers are mean. Some are just kind of agressive. I have a Niger(red tooth) trigger that Is nice to it's tank mates, but is afraid of nothing. When I feed my snowflake eel, the trigger comes after me! However, when I feed my Moray, he is a maniac! If I get my fingers too close....
Fabio actually gave a nice wound to the employee at the LFS! he he :D :D :D :D

I also read a story of a diver getting a green moray attached to their face!!! They lived and all, but can you imagine a 7' beast wrapping its jaws around your cheek bones?!!? :D :D :D
