What is the most intelligent freshwater fish?

You can't really single out RD's as being smarter than any other large ca/sa cichlid.


As for who's the smartest. I say the one who was never caught out of the river. But that kinda goes along with what oddball said.

I'm with stiff, intelligence is far to difficult to define within our species. There is no way we compare intelligence between animals that are so different from each other.

But some fish are difficult to catch not because they are intelligent, but because they have different feeding habits that make them hard to catch. Grass carp are an example, they feed mainly on vegetation and are not usually caught by hook and line. ;)
