What is the smallest silver dollar type fish?

Are they safe to keep with smaller fish like rummynose?

Mine are in with smaller fish of various species with no issues

I've got a group of 5 spotted SD in my main tank, for the most part they are non aggressive when it comes to smaller tank mates. I will tell you though, that I've seen 2 of my larger SD's snag themselves a feeder (rosy minnow) from time to time when I'm giving my cichlids a treat.

Thanks, I have six in my 450. I believe the reputation for skittishness they have is due to people keeping them in smaller tanks

I agree.
I have 19 of them in my tank and they are not skittish at all.
They are a great characin to keep.I love my gang.

I had five red hooks in my 220 and they wreaked havoc every time I walked by, trying to get behind decor or heaters! Smaller than your tank, I admit.
