to be frank.... stick w what is easy for you and on your pocket. I find frozen shrimp working for me best as being cheap and easily fortified with additional vitamins if neccessary.

Not saying pellets are not good but when u have a 3ft silver or a 2ft jardini its gonna take alot of pellets if you got a very hearty eater... This is mostly according to our standards here as many hobbyists like to get the appetite of their aros up when small.

I am going to give you a tip that worked best for me. Start with feeding it plankton freeze dried then switch to frozen krill. Pellets are a little easier on the wallet but you won't get the color of the aro in my avatar with pellets. I feed silversides, beefheart, frozen fish and frozen krill to my aro but I make sure he gets more krill than anything just because of the color I can get with it.. after they get bigger you can start shoving pellets in frozen shrimp or prawns for the added nutritional value if he won't eat them directly.
here's a better pic of the aro

yeah I got my little 2-3" jardini to eat hikari food sticks and freeze dried krill. I just snapped the food stick in half - cuz he had a hard time downing it at first. Its only been like 5-7 weeks and the little fella has grown at least an inch.

personally i have a 3.5inch jardini and it loves frozen blood worms and frozen market shrimp. for the shrimp just thaw it and cut it into small pieces itll down that stuff in an instant.

a high quality pellet should be the staple of an silvers arows diet ( a suppliment should be added to the food for complete nutrition) but other things on the menu would have there added benifits

but can only foods besides pellets do this in the home aquarium can other foods do this? :naughty:
