Which is the most aggressive SA/CA cichlid in your experience/opinion?

Unfortunately I haven't been able to have a tank over 60 gal yet so I keep mostly medium size fish. This male salvini killed tons of my dithers, beat up my convict pair by himself, the male con was bigger than him, and beat up my male nics that had 3 inches on him. Eventually had to get rid of the salvini.

in all seriousness i have respect for umbees and others but ill vote dovii any day.
 
in what ive seen and in everything ive read there is a reason you don't see full grown dovi or umbees kept in com tanks in saying that they both have the mass to throw around as they please so hands down they are the muscle when it comes to cichlids. my own fish id have to say my salvini my male was bad ass bet up jags oscars and bulled every thing else at 7 or so inches he ran my tank . so we called him king pin . he even bit one of my bala sharks right in half so he went in to a mates tank . bet up everything in there and now is at his mates place with full size jags and texas cichlids . was told that he is still trying to rule the roost so to speak ..... will get another at some stage

I disagree with your statement Oscars are pansies. Usually gentle but when you piss them off they are insane. in sheer power, and bulk a full grown oscar is as strong as a full grown dovii, but it lacks the attitude and teeth. And in my experience the Most aggressive is midas or red devil. they aren't the baddest as in teeth and size but they have the attiude as most of the Strongest and roughest big boys get pushed around when they are younger (Jag,Dovii,Umbee) just to name a few. However you cant correctly judge the most bad-ass fish by species but some individual fish are insane. Just as i gave away a Jack Dempsey renowned for being shy and passive that would fight to the death and could care less how big the other fish was it took him 30 minutes to near kill my jaguar and oscar who were larger than him. He has been the meanest fish personally have owned and would bet money he could kick ass until he died at his size with any-other cichlid for right now. sometimes you just get crazy little fish
 
Gotta agree with you man Salvini's are little *******s XD Worst bulliers once dominant ( if thats a word) I have owned.
 
For its small size I would say a convicts especially when breeding, they will kill anything you put with them while breeding. I heard some parachromis are pretty mean and they get huge. But for your everyday "common" cichlid I would say convict
 
Parachromis managuensis from the can be lethal at times..and for a territorial behavior its i think the convicts which can show up the highest aggression and witful attack methods..among the common african jewel cichlids are a threat to the convicts sometimes..
 
Every individual cichlid is different.

But from my experience, nothing was more notorious at wiping community tanks clean than a Grammodes cichlid or the Black Nasty cichlid.

The grammodes are stealthy killers, will remove all other tankmates at night. A very shy/skittish fish that has a darkside to it, I warn any future grammodes keepers.
It's funny, the male Haitiensis are not all that bad. . . It's the females!
