white poop syndrome

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No, common salt, sodium chloride won't help. Magnesium sulfate aka epsom salt is completely different, and acts in a different manner than regular salt. Check out my sticky at the top of this section, if your fish is still eating it may be all that's required.

I just read it. I have another fish with him that got over the divider. The one with white poop is still kicking butt and eating up a storm. I'll work quick, just wonder if the temperature in the tank matters in causing or helping the problem?

Temp shouldn't be an issue.

Worst update ever.....
I didn't get the epsom salt yet
I came home today to find little mites in all of my tanks
They're about 1/3 the size of a grain of salt.

Tiny yellow bugs
That one describes what I have....they say they're harmless

Despite that, I haven't tended to a Carpintis that previously had tankmates with parasites. He's barely eating if at all. I've had him 2 weeks now and more than ever he stays hidden.
His tankmate is a 1st gen red texas. She had stopped eating a few days after he showed up but for the 1st week they focused on spawning until he couldn't handle her aggression. She still isn't eating.
Can't the treatment be the same?
