Years ago I did (back in the late 80's/early 90's) but I never would these days. There's two main reasons I don't do it these days.. One is you could buy feeders 100 times from a LFS and maybe not have an issue 99 of those times, but all it takes is that 1 time where the feeders are infected with something and your prize fish could be dead. And the other is there are just so many high nutrition frozen packed foods these days that there's no reason for me to not utilize those.
I'm not gonna tell anyone that does use feeders they shouldn't because its their fish their choice, but the above are the reasons why I personally don't use them.
