Well I hold the feeders for a month and check for any symptoms, I've done perfectly fine without medicating, though it would be recommended. Note also do not use goldfish, use minnows or guppies, they have lower fat and thiaminase unlike goldfish.. I had a pair of axolotls that I sold earlier this year and I'd say yes that counts. I remember reading something that they can get diseases as well from non quarantine feeders
See the thing is that its fun to see your fish hunt and wild fish might not eat pellet or meat so we have to use feeder and also cause they will feel like home or enjoy hunting for feedersI understand they are not healthy per say but are you completely against it or once in a while is okay by you?
I'm curious because on many forums users will rip you a new one for feddife feeders. I fed my wolf fish a feeder for the first time (owned it for 8 months) and people started throwing online tantrums.
I have tried multiple time to get my gar off of feeders so far no luck but he has eaten a couple worms but spits out shrimp. my lfs seems to do a good job keeping the feeders healthy I cant remember the last time I brought some home and had one die on me, I also quarentine them for usually 2 weeks and gut load them
I have tried that and I cut the shrimp long ways and tie string around it only tight enough so when he attacks it releases so I can make it look like it is swimmingYou should try prepared tilapia in thin strips like a minnow looks.
Have you tried freeze dried shrimp or krill?I have tried that and I cut the shrimp long ways and tie string around it only tight enough so when he attacks it releases so I can make it look like it is swimming

I was gonna recommend that next, but again try this same method but different types of fish and not shrimp. Also keep trying it, dont give in. He will cave![]()
