That's amazing Amphilophus sp. and Africans living a feral exsistance in the same body of water. It'll be interesting to see what evolution has in store for them.

Pretty nice, being able to catch your own. Had some pretty ones there, too. Might have some strange hybrids from that kind of group living together.

The power plant is a really nasty, brown coal burning place that produces heaps of pollution so the government have been talking of shutting it down for years. If that happens the water will cool and kill everything off.

As far as hybrids, I think most of them are!

Was at the pondage yesterday, it has been closed due to a blue-green algae outbreak.

Went to a few of the spots where i have seen huge amounts of cichlids in the past, no sign of them anywhere.

Could they have been killed off due to the algae, or maybe some kind of algicidal treatment put in there?
