Will a bala shark school with tinfoil barbs?

As some of you may already know, 3 of my 4 fairly large bala sharks died in late October 2010, and I haven't been able to find replacements for them since then (the new balas would have to be 7"+ to avoid being eaten or killed, and it's not easy to find them at that size in KY), so I was wondering if I could just buy some large tinfoil barbs to school with my remaining bala shark, since tinfoils are usually readily available at 7"+ around here (I'm not sure how much they cost at that size, though). What do you all think?

They might click.Though in my experience,balas seem be more more timid or less
aggressive in nature than tinfoils.A lonely bala might not respond well to the tinfoils
playful sparing episodes?

I don't know, back when I had the other balas, they used to do the same thing, and I just found this vid of a bala schooling with tinfoils, so I think there may be a pretty good chance of it working.

i have 5 bala shark. 2 large and 3 medium. i was looking for 2x tinfoil barb medium. Hope that fine together. me 2 large bala shark is always dance when i give they food. like 5-10min take long.

I though you must later need update new tank. bala shark and tinfoil can grow to big. 32-34cm.
