Will this take down a skunk or racoon?

I got 6 kills and the 3 unaccounted for witch I don't know if they died. Two was hot forsure but managed to limp away. I was for a little while but I didn't see any thing but a nice 8 point Buck that I wanted to take out so bad. I think killing the few I did scared them off or they to go elsewhere to get food.

OP for what you want the 22mag is vastly overkill and way too loud. The best method would be a nice accurate bolt action 22lr(savage makes some great ones for cheap) with a CCI CB short aimed at the head. Wont even hear it.

It doesn't have to be headshots from a distance a head shot wont do nothing but scare it but at the same distance I can hit a vital organ and its down in seconds.

Correction the count is 8 and 1 unaccounted. A maintenance worker found another body a few yards over and I went out by the den a found another. But now I think we have a raccoon problem as I was walking to the den i noticed something got into a neighbors bottles.

Me too, I have a 22mag but for what the OP wants its over kill. A Cb short will be deathly quiet and will drop em all day long.


Honostly the 22mag kinda dieing. I dont think it will ever disappear but sticking just to rimfire there are so many choises that will do everything it does and more.
 
I agree the .22 mag is a bit over kill. We dug up their den tranqiulized then and relocaled ghost and a female the a zoo. This is the one of the kills the Turkey vultures picked the others clean.
