We lagged on the Lunch, but got a bit more done...

I cut all the Plexi panels for the switches and mounting tabs...

We retightened the left Overflow bulkhead just to be sure we had some Silicone on there...(finally used up one small tube I been using since last Christmas)...PhullTank swears by the stuff and I am a
"do it clean and dry and don't overtighten it" kinda guy...

Yeah yeah yeah, I'm learning...

I'll need to publically admit that a dab of silicone makes the small imperfections on LARGE fittings and Plexiglass come together nicely sealing any chance of a leak...

NOT THAT MY STUFF, OR MY WAY LEAKS,
I'm tellin ya right now...But it IS a good technique for prevention of Possible leaks...
OK THERE I said it....:D :D :D :D :D
something else you can use is teflon paste i have bin useing it for years on this type stuff and it works great. one thing nice abought it is it dont setup. easy to wipe off if ever needed.

I'm thinking this will be a great grow out tank for a big ol pack of Aros...I'd really like to have a funny looking one, that just stands out from the rest of the Silver/Black/Jardini pack...a Mutant so to say...

Discus are cool fish. :) But no, I think zennzo just may have met a new 'connection' on stuff... think he just might be able to keep his dream' fish, afterall?!! Don't know for sure, but we'll see?!! ;)

Unless of course, he is thinking of keeping discus?!! :D :D :D
I agree, discus are cool, but I had to throw a jab in at him while I had the chance.

Well...if you must know,...
I have had this idea in my head for some time now...
I envision a day, where I can shovel in the food, and observe
my Aros without knowing that the 8.1-8.2 Ph. out of the tap and all the crap I put in their water, is killing them...

I have been getting Stresscoat 2 gallons at a time and already have used up 3 gallons this year so far.
I am so far from soft, acidic water that I might as well be keeping Africans (OMG not Africans) No offense but my eyes are not keen enough to enjoy those quick lil suckers...
...I have lime deposits so thick on the back of the tanks, where I don't always dry really good, that looks like salt creep on a unkept saltwater rig... I hate it...

So on my new Acrylic Rig(S) I can run a Huge, Central 1200 Scrubbie bio-chamber, RO drip for water changes and some still, calm, water for whatever happens to come my way and happens to maybe Spawn...:naughty:

That and I want to see the true colors of some of the future inhabitants...

So it's not really alot of tanks all over, but It'll be a few big boys, and then we'll have to call it... "Zennzzo's westcoast Style":headbang2:D ;)
Is this going to be setup for all of your tank? If not, you might have issues moving fish around after having them on RO. Or selling them for that matter. ;)

I am just a keeper...I have a hard time selling or giving away my fish...It's a 6stage 100GPD unit so it will be able to supply the 600 total gallons we have total in tanks...

OK I got it ordered and it'll be here Tues or Weds...

NOW!!, I got another delema...

I seen at HD a .50gph emiter in the Drip Irrigation section.
I didn't look at the working pressure needed, to obtain the valued GPH rate on the emmiters.

My original plan was to position a small overflow on the tank itself, then just have the RO unit fill the tank at a rate of .50 GPH.
The volume of water that the emitter allows into the tank can overflow to waste.

I guess the RO will just be at a constant 1/2 gph giving me 12 gallons per day and that works out to 84gallons per week...This is slightly over 33%

That also works out to about 12-13% of the rated daily capacity on the RO unit...

All these numbers seem OK to me...

Then I seen in the catalog, float valve parts, and I got to thinking there might be a better simpler way...

If ANYBODY has another way or is doing something different and would like to share, Please Chime in...

OK kinda slow today beings it's a day of rest and all...

I did happen to finish building the switch pannel, after 2 to 3 tries I got the one I was looking for...I used the back out of an old Tru-Vu 55g.
I put tabs 0n it made from .50" acrylic...After the silicone dries, that I sealed them up on the back with, I'll start in with the wiring and heatshrink...I'm going to try and make the wiring disapear...

One of the things that always bugged me about tanks, is the way the wires are all in a disarray...

Not this time...it'll look "wireless" under there...

ANybody have anything on RO drip/overflow technique?...anyone?
