It was chased to much to bother anyone. It was sad that the tank was not big enough for 2 sharks.

We were very lucky in that the gold one hid in driftwood near the glass and a friend was able to catch him.

Wow, that is incredible! Definitely misjudged this character. It's amazing that it took down a arowana, gar & arapaima! Out of all aquarium fish that would be up there in my top 3 concerning tough scales.

Always thought it was the paroon shark "pangasius sanitwongsei" that killed the arapaima.

Makes me wonder if this is their natural behavior, and part of their method of getting food.

Thanx for the pictures. Even though it's small for arapaima that's still a really big fish.

I think it might be the individual as I saw a hobbyist with one that was almost as big and it never bothered his Red Tail cat in a large plywood tank.

Also the gold one was in a friends 16 foot sump and never killed any of his fish.

For wolf lovers. I recently bought a black wolf fish from Daniel at Aquatic Kingdom in Mississauga. SimonL works there.

Fishopolis aka Brian took a short vid of him recently:

He is not really doing anything in the vid but this guy really has attitude and a great eater in my tank (in 120 g, 454 litre)

Awesome! Hope that Black Wolf Fish grows into an awesome monster and the tank it is in looks nice at well.
The vid were taken when he was still at Aquatic Kingdom in maybe a 75 gallon tank. He is now in a 120 at my house with some bogwood, large fake plants, a circulating pump and a fluval fx5 filter. Very few H. Cupurina grow really big (30 inches, 75cm). Most max out at half that size. This guy is well built, eats well and is around 12" 30cm. If he grows more that's great but not important to me.

The wolf fish that grows big is the Hoplias aimara which might reach 36" 90cm
