Just looked up Lupinus plant. Those grow everywhere around here. Maybe I'll try a few in my pond.

yeah i heard you can eat creeping charlie havent tried it. i have read they are also semi aquatic so i was thinking of getting a long one and submerging parts with it coming out the back and seeing if the leaves under water survive with the rest out of the water. However we got a bunch of snow tonight and the wind chill is below zero so that will have to wait. Lupinus does seem like a cool plant also. BTW I am going to trade some excess water plants (hornworts, water lettuce, and grassy vine) for some cichlids tomorrow, win win excess fish for excess plants lol

The peace lilly I placed in my tank seem to be doing okay so far. The root systems are flourishing however I am not sure if my tank location will work. It only gets a bit of sun each day from one direction, so I think all the leaves not over there will die off. The ones facing the right way seem to be quite healthy, a few new ones. All the leaves developed brown tips though this week, must be the stress.

On another note, the remaining feeder fish (the uneaten ones that is) have found its roots a very comforting hideout.

The womens 55 is offically nitrate free 100% via pothos. Been 3 weeks tested today and nada. Just a top off from now on. Also doesnt help that she has 5 fish in their HAHA, smallest being1.5" and the largest a syno decorus at perhaps 5". She does want more glo lites though but I am sure the pothos will have no problem handling 5-6 more tiny fish.

My tank still working on it. And WHITE SPIDER MITES!!! I knew this day would come being plants and all. Right now I am just spraying the leaves to hope and drown some that I can. Still looking for a 100% remedy that wont foul the water and the fish.

You can try Neam Oil, mix a cap with a drop of insect soap and warm water. Spray the entire plant surface. Another option is diluted coffee a few times a week. Just be sure that the soap is a bio-degradable soap. Both treatments have been known to take care of spider mite infestations.

A Lot of aquapons tend to grow chilli peppers too and a hot pepper spray seems to be a deterrant for most pests as well. Not sure of the effects that it may have on an entire system as I have never used it. but that is something that may be considered. And If anyone out there has had experience please share. because I plan to implement it this spring.

On the back of my 20 gal tank,
My spider plants continue to grow well, philodendrons are finally getting roots after 1 month. Pothos still not really getting roots yet after 3 weeks.
Creeping charlie still doing well.

In my tank
6 goldfish, 6 flathead minnows and 2 kirby cichlids doing well. My hornworts and other water plant are looking paler.

Is it possible nutrient levels have dropped to the point that my aquatic plants are suffering?

All I have in the tank is a blubber and heater. Water change every 3 months or so.
