I see where some people are coming from when saying they watch this show for the entertainment. That's great and all and I'm watching a repeat eight now but knowing what I know now after reading this thread makes it pretty hard to really get the entertainment factor. Shows like pimp my ride and sons of guns are entertaining and I wouldn't pick them apart because of that. However, tanked deals with live animals... Live animals that are either mistreated or outright killed (inadvertently or not) and I find it pretty darn horrible.
I just can't liken tanked to another reality show because if I was watching an entertaining reality show about building custom dog house enclosures that we're obviously too small for the dogs or were putting dogs together that we're fighting and hurting each it would be the same thing as what has been described about tanked and obviously a horrible thing.
I think there's a desensitizing factor to some (most) people with fish that they don't even realize they have because we've been raised around eating fish, fishing for sport, and as a fish dies generally (at a quick glance or watching an edited tv show) it just goes and doesn't give a huge show as it dies. Obviously that's a conversation for another day but it just came to mind as I was typing this up.
I hope I'm not detailing the thread here as it is to discuss the show but I really wanted to add to what I was reading in some of the earlier posts and also thank the members that have enlightened me when it comes to their practices as businessmen (or reality tv stars that is)
