I have a 180 with a 2 foot Aba aba in it. I change the sock once a month. So.........12 months X 2 years = 24 crap I was off by onehow do 25 socks last 2 years if you're throwing them away after each use? I run 2 at a time and have to change them out at least once a week, am I doing something wrong???
Too many variables to compare. Micron size, sock size, fish load, substrate vs bare bottom, types of food you feed, etc etc.how do 25 socks last 2 years if you're throwing them away after each use? I run 2 at a time and have to change them out at least once a week, am I doing something wrong???

I would be curious to see how they work. From what I have read the mesh-type bags clog faster than a felt bag of the same micron rating. If they are a whole lot easier to clean it might be worth it to give up some cleaning interval time in exchange for less cleaning effort.Has anyone used Nylon monofilament (NMO) filter bags or socks?? I talked with a lady the other day at a place and she was saying these would be the best option for aquarium filtration with her knowledge. Wondering if anyone has tried them, She was saying they would be allot easier to clean out and reuse keeping a perfect micron rating as when we wash filter socks we lose a bit of the micron rating each time we wash them. Any ideas before I order 4 of them and try them??
