That must have been a very stressed plant then. Stick at it or try another. out of the 2 plants I got one is finally starting to grow, but the other took off after a couple weeks. Maybe a little added light too!
Wow they look healthy, like the length on those bad boys.

Is it dirt substrate? I would clean the roots and remember to snip an inch off the end of the roots, this will help it acclimate faster and re grow the necessary aqua roots, then you can just fill the pots back up with pea or aquarium gravel, like I did on page one!
Put it in the sump for sure then, good water flow! Just grab a soap holder or shower caddy thing from Walmart with suction cups, the roots will dangle I'm the water, won't need substrate
First off, your substrate and decor will also contain some bb, and the fact that your reading nitrates means your ammonia is still being converted to nitrite then to nitrate meaning you have both bb!

Also, you can still do small 15-20% wc in the mean time and it won't effect the cycling process but like I said before if your reading nitrates then your fine, ammonia and nitrite are much more toxic to fish, did you test those levels? If you have any ppm of each you need to do a 20% wc ASAP!

Anyways, tank looks good and I love the pothos, they are a great addition to any aquarium! Cheers
