Why would we trust someone that says moving beds are "rubbish"? Why would we trust someone so capable of pointing out flaws yet incapable of fixing them? IF you got all these problems nailed down then why don't you have a working moving bed? Was it just easier to convince yourself that what you already had was as good as it could possibly get?
"Traffic jams" happen for a reason. Either fix it, or convince yourself it's just part of life and there's nothing you can do about it. Either way fixes it, but only one gets you a working reactor........
wheres the super oxygenation in a sand filter? part of the theory of a reactor is using oxygen to move the media! there is no oxygenation in a sand filter (to my knowledge) and as stated above, when theres a loss of power, the sand can settle and not fluidize when power is returned on.in the event of a power loss, a battery powered air pump would keep bb alive in a reactor until normal power is restored. for me, sand is a waste of time.so far, i have yet to see anything better than a fluidized bed reactor!as stated over and over again i have a sand bed filter running which in my eyes is much better than moving bed which gets stuck in a traffic jam
the idea of moving bed and sand filter is the same but the sand moves more freely with no traffic jams so why would i need both
in respect to sand and k1 k3 compaired to sand then moving bed is rubbish
as for using a smaller air pump maybe you should try using the same size i was usingWhen the power goes out sand filters compact and without intervention may not restart.
I'm sure yours doesn't do this, but I know several people that gave up sand filters cause of the inability to properly restart after a power cut and thier own compacting version of what you would call a "traffic jam"
Kind off odd that several of us here have no "traffic jams" in our reactors. Maybe we should try some smaller air pumps........
90 liter per min to boil how much media? 2 ft3?Sweet do it yourself air setup, I like it. Knowing that pump is 149 liters per minutes makes me think a 90 liter per minute pump will work great for my setup

your right is was you get traffic jams90 liter per min to boil how much media? 2 ft3?
Seems like 65 lpm for a moving bed would be a waste of time......
