oh man thats awesome, he'll be back to normal in no time!
Yessir! Better than new in fact!
Looks much better already! Awesome ... just thinking of how tricky the little procedure you did was, as far as keeping those teeth from getting stuck in your finger since I'm sure he did an awful lot of thrashing around, not to mention how difficult it is to catch those buggers!

He did his best to take a chunk out of me! LOL
The scale loss on his caudal peduncle in the pic from right after I clipped him is from me holding him. He didn't thrash too bad once I had him because with ATF, if you roll them onto their back they go catatonic and can't fight nearly as well. It makes handling them a LOT easier.
Awesome! You should just update every month or two...with size and pic.
Good Luck

If I waited a month, the fin would be healed up already!
Is it necessay to cut that for down or just below any damage or deformity from previous injuries.
Looks great.
It probably isn't necessary to cut the fin that far down at all. Actually, I strongly suspect that it would have grown back with no cutting. The reasons I cut it were two fold. First, he's a prize specimen and I wanted to give the fin the best chance to heal perfectly. Second, I figured it might be of help to the community to see if fin clipping works on ATF. Logically, there's no reason why it shouldn't work as ATF don't have bones in their fins; I just wanted to see if I could gather proof to support my hypothesis.
Below are some updated pics. Just four days since the last update and there is dramatic new growth. His hooks are also coming back fairly well.
