Has anyone found a viable, cost effective source in the UK? The sepclean, mentioned early on is a little pricey for what is ultimately an experiment with no guaranteed results.

I have been using Clear-Flo 1002 from alken-murray.com for a little over 3 weeks now and am very satisfied. They ship internationally. Anyone else interested can contact Ken Edwards, President of Earth Doctor, Inc. (formerly Alken-Murray Corporation) @ colors@shentel.net

A 2 ounce bottle cost $15 plus shipping. I was told that 2 ounces is all I would need for 2 years for my 265 gallon. You only need to use very little each time you dose.

Anyone?

admin - did they instruct you on how much dry powder you should add to treat your 265? I'm just curious as to what the dosage rate was for their product in an aquarium set up? Thanks.

The product came with a few pages worth of info and different instructions for various applications. For our use, here is what is listed:

"
For aquariums and garden ponds from 100 to 1,000 gallons (378 to 3,780 liters):
For each 100 gallons (378 liters), the initial dose is 0.5 grams, followed by 0.2 grams once a week for 3 doses, then maintain with 0.3 grams twice each month.

For aquariums and garden ponds from 1,000 gallons - 100,000 gallons (3,780 liters - 378,000 liters):
For each 1,000 gallons (3,780 liters), the initial dose is 2 grams, followed by 1 gram once each week for 3 doses, then maintain with 1 gram twice a month. The dose for this size range is intentionally proportionately smaller than the dosage for the smaller tanks since the nutrient concentration is usually lower in larger tanks and garden ponds."
