Lol! The grunting does occur at night..........Usually I write off the grunting as territorial disputes as they do share the same fake log, more of a stay on your side thing. I will say though I never even gave thought to breeding them, perhaps it's something I should look into; though it would've been better to try when I still had 4 of them. Guess I'll start doing a little research to see what I can find on Driftwood cat breeding. Thanks for the inspiration!

at the very least, u should send that photo to julian at planetcatfish.. it's a very rare sight.. would be cool if u could breed these guys!

Looks like you have also caught Malagasy cichlid fever! I was warned its contagious
Sent from my Nexus 10 using MonsterAquariaNetwork App
I've definitely caught the fever, for me to consider a set up focused exclusively on them shows just how interesting I find them.

Stunning tank, amazing pic !!, incredible stock

It's sad fot that you lost your perch

If one day you want to make an poster of your own fish, i'm your man
Thanks for the compliments! and for the offer of a poster, I just may take you up on it!

I'm definitely giving breeding them thought and have considered creating a thread to get some input on exactly how to sex them and what conditions to provide to help stimulate breeding. I'll also see about sending that pic and some others over to planetcatfish, thanks again for the suggestions!

your welcome :) im really impressed I wish I could take pics like that.
Thanks man, and I'm sure you could with the right equipment and a little bit of know how. It mostly comes down to light and shutter speed, the better the light on the subject the more detail. The only other thing is if your using any camera when taking pics of fish turn off the flash so you don't get the flash reflected back at you. I still struggle with certain subjects, the Trachycorystes for instance are for the most part blurs when swimming. They never just slowly cruise as the only time they swim is when on the hunt between that and them disliking light they are a real challenge to photograph.

Sorry for the man reference and assuming, it's nice to meet you. Now I've gotta figure out what would have been the ideal response knowing you're a girl. Thanks girl, Thanks woman or Thanks lady or some other variation. :grinno: Your welcome on the tips I'm always happy to help anyone in anyway I can.

nice clear shots!
Thanks, the compliment is much appreciated!

Couple of pics from when I wasn't so skilled with pic taking and it's obvious that not even editing can replace a quality original pic.
