It was actually in a different pic you had somewhere else :)
And with unlimited beer a floor or couch will do just fine, just be sure to throw a blanket over me before you hit the hay!

Not sure I get the bridge comment?
Ok, now I know which pic you mean. Didn't realize it was there till you mentioned it. Plenty of space here in NJ, you'd have to bring your puppy.

Bridge reference was sarcasm I thought you'd appreciate with your sense of humor.....It basically means you're telling someone you're lying about what you've said, but in a really sarcastic way. And you want to make sure they know you're not serious. If you believe I have a private jet, I have a bridge to sell you!!

LOL! Never heard that before but I guess I should have been a little smarter. Although I did think it may have been a auto corrected word on the app. That happens a lot!

Do you have the solution to adding pothos? They could also hang off the sides.

Its an old expression, my grandparents used to say it all the time. Not surprised you haven't heard it on the other side of the country! If I'm remembering correctly, it became a popular expression in NY after someone convinced people they could buy part ownership in the Brooklyn bridge. That was before I was born BTW!

Still don't have a great solution - that's your task LOL. Hanging off the right side may work, but that's a really dark corner b/c there's a 3d BG on that side. I don't think the pothos would so well without any light. Can't hang off the left side, take a look at the pic. That's a popular seat for viewing as well as a favorite place for my daughter and our whippet. While Lilac is a wonderful pup, she's not exactly a Mensa candidate and is prone to randomly eating non food items.

I'm not sure why the pic is sideways. I don't mind the pothos on top and trailing off to the right. The conundrum is a making an aesthetically pleasing & secure base that won't let stems drop into the water ......

I put mine in an AquaClear Quick Filter Powerhead Attachment with some pond matrix.
I ran a piece of coat hanger through the gaps and bent it to fit. it's inside my overflow so i can't see at the moment if I actually have roots growing out of the attachment or not. I dipped the vine back down and dribbled water over those root bumps and they started growing until they hit the water.
mine grows over the side towards the floor, but my dogs don't touch stuff. you don't want Lilac eating any pothos, very toxic.

Thanks so much! Yes, pothos and many common houseplants are extremely toxic. Luckily this will be way out of Lilac's reach!

Your setup gives me the exact idea I've been looking for! I have a bunch of black mini baskets from buying plants at my LFS. I can rig them with coat wire to hang off the back rim of the tank. Roots will be long enough to reach water and I can add a black binder clip to the wire hook for extra stability. Since they're small I can line the whole back rim. Leaves will cover clips. Once the vines take off, I could mount a decorative trellis on the wall, so no access for Lilac. Problem solved & I'm a happy camper.:beer::beer:

This means challenge #2 is next & I'm lookin at you F1!

Nice work gangster! You prlly have 20-25% more plants mass then me ATM. I shall start overfeeding and maybe I can catch up.

What temp (k) light spectrum do you use? I'm using 6500k like I would for aquatic plants... not sure if that's the best temp

You could always cut a 2"x4" to 6" or so and use a .5" tall piece of wood mounted on each end of the 2x4 so the stems go under and the gap ensures the leaves or stems wont slip out. So the 2x4 is parallel to the edge of the tank. Kind of like this ] but obviously horizontal. I'm sure there's another materials you could use but u get the idea.

Or just a plain 2x4 that extends from the end of the lid to the wall leaving a small gap on the right side of the tank maybe with something on top the wood weighing it down if need be? Like this insanely good drawing I did on my phone uploadfromtaptalk1392058924625.jpg

Or just stand there and hold them :p

Ill teach you how to draw while I'm up there too!
