How about an update on the tank?

And what are you using for a light above the pothos? I run a 4ft 4 bulb t5 above mine and it works great!

How do you plan on keeping the water level right for your pothos? if its set up like a sump the water level will change unless you have some way of topping it off regularly. i think that could be a problem for your pothos

Well not much to tell on the tank. It's running just fine. No leaks, bows, warps, etc. No issues. Pleasingly boring.

I'm using a leftover fixture from the algae scrubber. I have two 55w fixtures that I have on a timer. I set them to run 6 hrs from 9p-3a when rates are a little lower. Unfortunately the first night I turned them on they spooked my VATFs and they jumped out so I lost two of them.

Ummm, not really. The water level does fluctuate somewhat when I change water but after I refill it and it stabilizes it's fine. The roots of the pothos should run down deep enough to not have any issues.

Yes, it would but the way I got it plumbed I would have to rebuild it to accommodate the drip. My nitrates have improved drastically after I added pothos plants in my sump. I run my lights a lot less than when I had my algae scrubber and there's almost no maintenance. I only change water about 20-30% a week and the fish are doing great. My algae problems also have reduced because my Flagtail is a great algae cleaner.

btw the lucky bamboo was a bust. They grow too slowly and rot if they get too much water. I'm just left with Pothos now.

I just read this whole thread. Amazing, thanks for all the replies to everyones questions. I have read a few things about drip systems and I think you would just have to incorporate an overflow from the sump to the drain system in the floor. The extra water from the drip should exit there, not from the tank itself. I'm also planning a build similar to yours except I will be attempting two side windows, with plywood only for the bottom, back and top. Do you think that would be pushing it? Mine will only be 24" high with 1/2" acryllic or 3/8" glass.

Anyway, congratulations on your build.
