I have a question as well...will the plants just stop growing once the roots have no where else to grow? Just wondering because there's not a ton of room in the aquaclear 110s even with half sponge..will they just hit the bottom and stop growing?

Thanks! The stems across the edge of the ceiling are simply held on by a 1/2" long screw, just drilled them in at a 45° angle and they hold the stems nicely, as for the ones on the mounted directly vertical I used picture frame hangers, used the same screws and the stems fit nicely, only have two of those. The rest are hanging off the blinds or those plate things. Very simple and hopefully growth will go more rapid!
PH will not change, the only parameters that will change are nitrates for sure and depending on the cycle of the tank it can take out ammonia/nitrite if the nitrogen cycle is not complete which makes this plant very good for starting a tank!
It may take minerals or other stuff out but with at least weekly top offs your fine. I've monitored PH and nitrates very well the 1st 8-12 months and all it lowered was nitrates!
I'm excited to see your garden! Can't wait, please put the build on here and inspire us! This plant could significantly reduce nitrates, wc's and algae! keeping the water not only clean but even clearer!
They will be fine, my almost 2 year old plant has roots that could easily fit an ac110 and if they were scrunched up it would be fine, now if you put 4 or more plants into it maybe it may not be 100% efficient but for sure your setup is completely adequate!

Oh and I thought I may as well post a pic when the water change was completed and the black water extract was added! Looks natural IMO

I do have a build form on here but nothing really on it were getting a slower start then originally thought. Just got the greenhouse and we have the tanks (2 300 gallon stock tanks) we just need to get it all together and build the tables that the plants are going to be in.
Any clue on how many fish to how many plants.

Thanks! As messy and big nitrate producers as red belly Piranha are this only makes pothos that much more needed! I'd love to see you make a nice bw tank, a big piece of dw is what really makes a piranha tank pop!
I've tried many over the years, including Indiana almond leaves, peat moss, tons of dw etc.
Bang for Buck IMO is 'Microbe Lift Amazon Bio Colorant'
1 bottle last my 125gal a year and for 8-12$ a bottle that is cheap plus it has other benefits that help break down organics and provides beneficial enzymes. My fish love it, they act great and enjoy it, dims the light and makes them feel at home! Here's a good price on a 16oz bottle: http://www.affordableaquatic.com/?main_page=product_info&products_id=228 clear water in piranha tanks and other tanks just looks odd to me but that's just me. This is a decent method but for larger tanks its just harder to calibrate the amount needed and the water chemistry being changed, plus scooping out rotting leaves sucks not to mention piranha tanks need a good current/filtration and in my tank they don't just stay on the bottom, they clog the intake of my filter. I've tried using them in a filter sock like a tea bag but compared to 'Microbe lift Amazon Bio colorant' its to much work and money.
All you have to do is change water and add a capfull per 60/80gals of water and be done, no debris, no decaying Leaves etc!
Usually one decent bushel plant seems to be good for 3 to 5 6-8" fish, which in average cuts nitrates in half. I'd say 4 decent sized plants for a 300gal will cut nitrates in half given a med/high Bio load! Also depends on lighting and other factors.
