It's a shame that ornates, weeksii, congicus (not amymore), and many other wild caughts don't have a known catch locale. That would make it fun. It doesn't mean that it will look any different. Just as how we do it for cichlids and plecos.
Yeah man thats why i was asking the congi questions.... read that aqualong book and its a joke but ca/sa are so widely studied that they cant tell how many times the male farted during mating

Here's how rapps include catch locale. Sometimes the same specie may have differe.t locations.

Im not saying its the same fish, what im saying is maybe the fish that we get are getting mislabel somewhere, cause some have the same characteristics but different catch location.
Then would you say the same for all the pics hao posted ? My congi ?
Honestly you could be right but thats my main point we know nothing about theses fish besides what we are reading on forums...dont know how the river systems connect or their mating practices kn the wild.

yup but doesnt mean the fish from the se location are going to look exactly the same...plus most of the fish on rapps sheet are widley studied. Best we have to go on is from a time when the word coronet was a thing

Ive gotten ca/sa from rapps, coa, wetspot, and lfs because they are so cheap compared to polys i usually get multiple. From coa theres a min order so its more like 10 fish all from the same "batches" and all look slightly different but all are the same fish

I my heterospilus, zonatus, argentae were all chosen from4 or 5 of the same fish. I just chose the best looking and sold off the others...of they all looked the same then i wouldnt have been able to do that...but were the same fish.

We all do it at lfs.... look in the tank and pick the one that pleases us the most compared to the others

If you assess the overseas market for polys. Not only will you see that they go for crazy money, but they generalize the wild caught endli species. Such as from Ghana, Guinean, Nigerian, etc..

Yes and Maybe,im not saying all are mislabel. most of use relay on what the supplier tells us. We didnt actually go and catch the fish ourself, lolz, so we relay on what they tell us.
